University of Barcelona

  • On the 19th September 2009, ULS signed an exclusive license with the University of Barcelona for the development and commercialisation of novel peptide analogues with infectious disease applications.
  • The peptides identified thus far by the University of Barcelona possess a novel structure and appear to have a broad spectrum of activity towards both Gram negative and Gram positive organisms.
  • Further peptide derivatives will now be synthesised and screened against a panel of organisms for improvements in activity.
  • Biophysical experiments are also planned to establish the exact mode of action of these unusual peptides.
