- On the 4th March 2009, ULS signed an exclusive license with the University of Surrey for the development and commercialisation of novel inhibitors of the HOX/PBX interaction in the field of oncology.
- The HOX genes represent a family of homeodomain-containing transcription factors that are overexpressed during malignancy. This includes prostate, lung, ovarian, prostate, renal and bladder cancer together with acute myeloid leukaemia and melanoma.
- Through the establishment of an innovative screening platform, ULS will identify novel inhibitory molecules for further development.
